another day...
today has been "just another day" around here. We went to the modelling agency and it seemed to be somewhat positive. The lady was impressed with both the kids -their looks and behaviour. I was happy to hear that! The lady explained that they are like a "head hunting agency" for commercials, modelling, magazines, and something else I can't remember... but they are pretty much the middle-man, hooking up the companies -some she listed are pretty good/big names, and they will let her know who they want (via pictures that we have provided them with) then we get the call to go for the work. They charge $175 for a yearly fee for their services, and then also take 20% off the top of all money made. We'll be hearing back next week sometime if they decide that they are interested in Ally. We are skeptical on the entire money thing... of course. I'll keep you all posted.
As for the rest of our day it pretty well went to hell in a handbasket, but what did I expect? Steve *did* call around about the furniture -he wants futon, I want a sectional and we've compromised on 2 futons b/c of costs. So it's been decided that we are getting the futons and we now know where.
I have a headache and I'm drained! sigh...

futons--one of our friends got an awesome one from Ikea, but I'm guessing it's expensive... I always liked the concept, though, b/c presto magico, instant couch or bed. :-) and I've personally never been a fan of sectionals--too big!
Futons are convenient for sure, just invest in the really thick foam if you plan to use them as sofa's. We made the mistake of not doing that once and learned our lesson.
Be wary of any agency that charges a "fee". The really legit ones will take you on without charging you, and they should only take 10-15% commission. 20% is really high. If they call you back next week and say they've decided to represent you and then immediately ask for money to put together a portfolio turn around and run....
